Novarel

Wash your hands with soap and water.

Clean the injection area with an alcohol pad and let it dry.

Remove the plastic caps from the vials of Novarel and Bacteriostatic Water diluent.

Wipe the tops of each vial with an alcohol pad.

Unwrap the syringe and mixing needle, and twist the needle onto the syringe.

Remove the needle cap. Draw air into the syringe by pulling back the plunger to the amount of diluent your doctor recommended, usually 1 mL.

Place the diluent vial on a flat surface and insert the needle through the rubber stopper into the vial.

Gently press the plunger all the way down, pushing the air into the vial.

Without removing the needle, turn the vial upside down; make sure the tip of the needle stays submerged in the solution.

Pull the plunger back to withdraw the recommended amount of diluent. Then turn the vial back around, place it on a surface, and remove the needle.

Take the vial of Novarel and place it on a flat surface; insert the needle through the rubber stopper into the vial.

Push the plunger down to inject the diluent solution into the Novarel vial.

Gently swirl until the powder is dissolved.

Without removing the needle, turn the vial upside down.

Slowly pull back on the plunger to withdraw your dose.

Remove the needle from the vial, then carefully recap the needle.

Twist the mixing needle off, and twist the injecting needle into the syringe.
